PLR Content & Some Link Love

If you're new here, why not subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

After going back and forth with myself I have made many changes to my plans. For one, I have unloaded several domain names and it felt GREAT. With the unloading of domains was also a shift in thinking. I no longer want several sites making a few dollars and more. I have finally realized (after much resistance) less IS more. I want to work on things that inspire me and make me want to write. I have a nice handful of new/existing sites based on this premise.

I am a big fan of PLR (Private Label Rights) articles. As long as you realize you do/should make modifications to make them unique (or so I think anyway). My favorite PLR site is Niche Content Packages. The articles are good quality and the graphics are superb. I was thrilled when Stev announced they made several BIG changes to their website. One such change is now you can purchase credits to buy the article packages of your choice. Can you tell how happy I am about this change?

My Favorite Blog Posts this week:

One of my best friends (and partner on a few projects), Belle, has a thought provoking post titled Finding My Voice. Much of what she said resonated with me and some of my own struggles as a blogger.

Lynn Terry has a trio of posts that are a must read:
The Difference Between A-List Bloggers and the rest of the alphabet…

Six Reasons To Shoot For The B-List and Forget About Becoming an A-List Blogger…

Pick the Brain has a motivating, helpful post 27 Lessons Learned on the Way to 3000 Visits a Day and 2200 RSS Subscribers.

The Real Secret to Getting Tons of Blog Subscribers - one of my favorite blogs. It’s about time he finally lets us in on the *real* secret ha!.

You have probably heard about it all over the web but still worth mentioning is the Authority Black Book, some very good tips and suggestions.

Lastly, John Chow has a new, free e-book Making Money with an E-book - Using An E-Book To Drive Traffic & Make Money Online. I have only been writing my e-book for two years now (procrastinate much?). This was a real kick in the @$$ for me.

And there you have it. My list of favorites for this week. Happy Reading. Any suggestions for reading, leave me a comment or send me an email :) I purposely didn’t mention all my trips to the bookstore the past two weeks. Maybe I should just start a 12-step program?

Accounting Programs

Do you use an accounting program? Until now, I have been using an Excel spreadsheet but I think I have outgrown it. Not only do I have my business but I have my Husband’s business and he gets 50+ checks a month plus invoices etc.

Any recommendations? Quickbooks, Peachtree, Quicken? It’s been a few  years since I have worked with any of these programs so I don’t even know which one would work best.

Any accounting methods or books to share? This area is definitely one of my weaknesses. I hate all things math, accounting and such, bleck.

On another note, I don’t know what I would do without Akismet. It really is a life saver. I just deleted all the accumulated spam on this blog and not even five minutes later, there are six more.

Talking about finances, I am so proud of me. I cancelled a bunch of domain names that were due to renew that I know I will really never use. Having some focus really is nice for a change ;)

Bookmarkz!!

I can’t begin to tell you how happy I was when I found Bookmarkz!. Talk about saving time! I wanted to add some social bookmarking and I was going one by one signing up with them - time consuming!

Bookmarkz is easy peasy (as my good friend BJ would say). If you are technically challenged like myself or if you just want it done quickly - you will love it too.

Use Bookmarkz to create the perfect set of “one-click social bookmarking” links for your blog or website! Choose only the social bookmarking services that best match.

All they require in return is a link back to their site somewhere on your blog, win/win situatioin ;)

Themes Press

I love wordpress themes! I tend to use them on this blog and various other blogs, especially my non-work, made for venting blog ;)

For only $10 Themes Press allows you to easily convert HTML and CSS based designs into a WordPress blog theme, allowing you full control of the look of your blog without having to know or bother with PHP. Being that I am technically challenged this sounds perfect!

Best of all, generated themes are Widget ready! Theme Press is definitely on my list of things to try out, for only $10 it’s worth it.

If you would rather stick to Free, there is always:
