I finally finished up my box of business cards so I could order some new ones. I tried going to the local printer but their prices were double Vista Print for the same quality so I went back online to order.
I was trying to give the local business, my business but not at that price. I know everyone needs to make a living but when the price difference is clearly that big your bottom line is what counts.
Offline Business Resources
Being in the Internet Marketing Industry I think at times I tend to forget how offline businesses work. Shocking, I know. In fact, my Husband has one. In an effort to make sure I wasn’t forgetting anything when forming his corporation I did some research.
I found this Business Start Up Guide to be helpful. Also, Sugarrae has a good post titled Before You Launch that Local Small Business Website. Just thought I would share.
Marketing with Flyers
Flyers are a good old fashion way of getting new customers. My husband has an offline business so we decided to distribute flyers locally. We included a coupon and a piece of candy and picked some neighborhoods to target.
We got a call late last night from lady saying they don’t need our service that everyone in that area already has someone they use. So, she went around the neighborhood picked up all our flyers and ‘threw’ them out and told us all we were doing was litering! Really, who has that much time on their hands? At least we know that area is no good but this lady was something else!
